About hydrological information

Hungarian Hydrological Forecasting Service daily receives hydrological data from Hungarian and other European hydrological services. Based on these data graphs, maps and tables are produced to present actual hydrological conditions on the Danube basin. All stations important for catchments, water courses, water bodies as well as stations needed for foreacasts are involved in data processing. Graphs present 6-hour water level data series about last 30 days.

Observed water level series might exceed alert levels or the HHW level, or they might decrease under the LLW level. In order to draw attention to these superventions these levels are marked with certain colours.

  • Exceed 1st alert level: yellow
  • Exceed 2nd alert level: orange
  • Exceed 3rd alert level: red
  • Exceed HHW level: purple
  • Decrease under LLW level: blue

Daily Water Regime Map is a more than 100-year-old product of HHFS. For several years it is produced digitally. It provides a comprehensive overview of the hydrological situation on major rivers in the Carpathian Basin.
